After a convincing 8-0 in the semi-final of the Islington & Camden Cup, our Year 10 football team were eager to go one better this year and bring a trophy back to Cowper Street at the Cup Finals on Wednesday 21st June.
After dominating the early periods of the game, Central Foundation was restricted to shots from long distance and neither team seemed to have their shooting boots with them.
Unfortunately, half-an-hour in to the game, a St Mary Magdalene Academy (SMMA) player was brought down in the area to give SMMA a one-nil. This swiftly became 2-0 when a spectacular strike from the edge of the box flew into the top corner.
Straight after the break, a swift SMMA counter attack from a Central corner led to a 3-0 deficit. Despite our efforts up to the final whistle, Central were unable to claw our way back into the game and 3-0 the scoreline stayed.
