Year 11 Geography Fieldwork Investigation Trip in Epping Forest

Over the course of Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th April, 114 Year 11 Geography students visited the Field Studies Centre in Epping Forest to carry out their fieldwork investigation that forms part of their GCSE exam.

Students took advantage of the spring weather to examine how Loughton Brook (a small river that runs through Epping Forest) changes as it moves downstream.

Students worked in small groups to collect the primary data needed for their investigation on river characteristics, including width, depth, velocity and bedload size.

The data will now be analysed back in school. The students enjoyed being out in the field, and thankfully no one came back wet!
