On Wednesday 28th June, the Mandarin department took our talented Year 10 students to Queen Mary University of London where our students presented their creative projects to the university and over 100 students from seven secondary schools in London.
This was organised by the prestigious, government-funded Mandarin Excellence Programme, in which all Mandarin students at Central Foundation take part. The students also had a campus tour of the university, listened to lectures about choices of studying abroad in top Chinese universities and reflected on their career paths and future aspirations.
Our Year 10 Mandarin students worked in groups and made advertisement videos of UK tourist destinations in Mandarin over the first 2 weeks of June. They were able to make excellent use of their Mandarin skills and creativity in these projects, which they presented to other schools on the conference in Queen Mary University of London. Their work received much praise from staff and students.
