Our campus redevelopment project has won a National Civic Trust Award for 2024.
The Civic Trust Awards is one of the only remaining independent built environment awards schemes, not linked to any organisation, institution or publication and operates on a not-for-profit basis. It is the longest standing built environment awards scheme in Europe since 1959. Its objective is to recognise projects with outstanding architecture, planning and design in a built environment that have made a positive contribution to the local communities they serve.
Over 320 projects were entered from across the UK and from abroad. The school was visited by a panel of three judges last October. Following the assessment process, 140 projects were recognised as Regional Finalists and from these 33 were Highly Commended and 22 were presented with a National/International Award.
Central Foundation project won the National Award.
Judges’ Comments:
“This is a high-quality scheme which really ticks all the boxes. The seamless integration of new and existing structures, coupled with a focus on accessibility and urban enhancement, makes this school redevelopment a model for revitalising educational spaces in a holistic and community-centric manner.”
