London Screen Academy Information Evening, Thursday 30th April, 6-7pm

We know that the Creative Industries and Creative Education can seem like a mystery! You want your young person to follow their passion, but you might not be sure how creative education works or if there are real job opportunities out there. To help you gain more confidence, London Screen Academy is holding an Information Evening to explore these queries.

This event is particularly aimed at young people, parents and carers from backgrounds that have historically been underrepresented within the film and TV industries.

Golden Lane Estate Upskilling Programme for Young People

Between March and June, the London School of Architecture will be delivering 15 weekly workshops for a group of 12 Golden Lane Estate residents aged 9-15. The programme will help participants develop foundational skills in design and making, while introducing them to a range of professions within the built environment. By the end of the programme, participants will receive a Level 1 Foundational Project Qualification in Architecture, providing formal recognition of their involvement and hard work.

The workshops will take place on Monday between 4:00pm and 6:30pm at the Sir Ralph Perring Centre.

Student Finance Info Session for Parents and Carers

Student finance applications will open on 23 March 2026, and students will need to complete these to secure their tuition and maintenance loans for September 2026. Applications should be submitted by 31 May 2026, to ensure funding is secured by the start of the course in autumn 2026. Even if your student is considering taking a gap year, all students should complete their student finance application in case their plans change. No funds will be transferred until the student has registered with a university in the autumn.

For more information on student finance and the application process, we strongly encourage you and your student to attend this webinar hosted by university and student loan experts. The session will also cover how the repayment of student loans works after graduation.

Deloitte invites parents and carers to a flagship insight event, taking place at their London office during National Apprenticeship Week, with the option to join virtually from anywhere in the UK.

London Screen Academy (LSA) Parents Information Session

We are hosting an Online Information Session on Wednesday 12th November to help you gain a better understanding about:

· What LSA’s course and curriculum is

· The skills that your young person will gain at LSA, and how in demand they are

· The many types of support offered at LSA

· What jobs and prospects exist in film and TV today

· Where our alumni go and the fantastic gains they’re achieving

This relaxed session will finish with a Q&A in which you can ask anything you want!

Half term workshop for 13-18 year olds with the chance to explore different careers using virtual reality. Students will have the opportunity to step into the shoes of a hotel worker, a railway engineer, or more through an immersive 360° VR experience. They will also as learn about the gaming and creative industry and the types of jobs and training routes on offer.
