After an incredible 24-hours, our Year 7s, 8s, 9s & 11s were crowned Islington & Camden Football Champions of 2024.
On Tuesday afternoon, our Year 7s beat St Mary Magdalene Academy in convincing style, running out 4-1 winners. Ylli, Prince & Player of the Match, Travis, scored two as Central came from 1-0 down to lift the Mitre Cup. The boys are in the semi-final of the London Cup, so still an opportunity to lift more silverware this season.
Our Year 11s had a much tighter affair against the same school. Leon slotted home after brilliant footwork from Abdul. A fantastic corner from Arthur ensured we walked away with a trophy in the boys last ever game for school together.
On Wednesday afternoon, our Year 8s ran out emphatic 8-1 winners. Mordecai, Alfie and Josh all scored fine goals but a special mention goes to Player of the Match Macdavid who scored four goals in the final. An incredible achievement.
Our Year 9s showed togetherness, desire and resilience to beat St Aloysius 1-0 in a real battle. Thomas scored the only goal of the game in the first 10-minutes and after a fantastic defensive display, we managed to get over the line to lift the Louis Shield. Special mention to Alex for a clean sheet in a cup final.
