Course Outline
Sociology is the study of human behaviour and society. It is a Social Science with its own set of guiding principles which are used to question, research, and explain the structures of our social world. If you are interested in people, social groups, identity, inequality, conflict and power in society, politics and the role that society has in shaping us as humans, then you will enjoy Sociology.
Sociology complements other subjects including Psychology, Law, History, Economics, Geography, Health and Social Care, Government and Politics, Anthropology and Business Studies. It is useful for many careers in journalism, social research, the law, politics, education, business and health industry. The course also develops core skills required to support students who choose to enter higher education.
