This week we marked Remembrance day with special Remembrance assemblies for each year group. We reflected on the historical significance of this date and considered how the state and different communities remember and show respect for those who have died or been injured in conflict at this time.
We remembered the 112 students from our own school who died during WWI and the 19 students who died during WW2.
Students from different year groups read extracts about those who died in wars while our school Captain, Kadija Khanom, read the poem ‘Poppies’. Our assembly concluded with the CFBS String Ensemble playing Larghetto from Sinfonia in G Major by Johann Stamitz.
