CFBS receives two new minibuses with the support from Derwent London!

We are delighted to announce that the Central Foundation Sport department has received two new minibuses. The two 17-seater vehicles were very much needed to facilitate our expanding sports provision. The lease of the two new minibuses was in part made possible thanks to a generous grant from Derwent London.

Derwent London is the largest London office-focused Real Estate Investment Trust. The company is focused on creating a positive socio-economic impact in local communities in and around its properties to show that their buildings are helping to secure wider benefits in their neighbourhoods. By looking beyond the bricks and mortar of their buildings, Derwent London plays an active role in the community by forming lasting relationships with local stakeholders and helping them achieve their objectives.

One of the ways Derwent London achieves this aim is through offering financial support to the local community in the form of grants.

In 2013, Derwent London launched a Community Fund in Fitzrovia and extended this to include the Tech Belt area in 2016, the purpose of which is to essentially help support projects that are designed for and benefitted by local groups. Up to £360,000 is being invested in the Fund from 2022 for three years. To date circa £1.1m has been invested in grass root projects – an achievement Derwent London are very proud of.

In the autumn term 2023, Central Foundation applied for a Tech Belt Community Fund grant and was successful in securing £10,000 towards the leasing of the two new minibuses. The new vehicles will allow the school to transport students to numerous off-site fixtures and to small group excursions.

We would like to thank Derwent London for their generous donation and support for our school community.
