The Inspirational Learning Group joined us for a full-day workshop with our Year 12 IT and Computer Science pupils as part of the National Skills Challenge. Pupils were asked to develop an idea for an open-world or sandbox style video game for Thorpe Park, using the amusements of Thorpe Park as their inspiration.
Pupils had the opportunity to experience the real-world process of developing a project from start to finish, considering things like design, cyber security, marketing and promotional materials and the use of artificial intelligence in their gameplay. This activity gave our young people great insight into how major companies develop their products, while also getting great practice in presentation and public speaking.
Our winning group will be heading to the National Skills Challenge Finals Event on Friday 28th April at Staffordshire University London – we wish them the best of luck!
