On Monday 17th July, our Year 9 boys visited the University of Reading. The campus tour was highly impressive and generated an enormous amount of interesting questions and discussion from the students.
They were particularly impressed by the £44 million newly built library, the 400 capacity lecture theatre, and were also stunned by how green the campus was and really enjoyed the break from the urban environment in London.
Students participated in a history lecture where they took part in “Witch Trials”, which included lake ‘dunkings’, hiding their ‘witch-marks’ and a spice eating challenge.
After lunch, the students competed with each other in an engineering challenge with some highly impressive results and some great prizes.
Overall, it was a hugely enjoyable and enriching day had by all. Thanks to our University of Reading student ambassadors and lecturers for their hospitality.
