Year 9 Football Teams Shine at Mill Hill School

Four CFBS Year 9 football teams travelled to Mill Hill School and returned with an impressive three wins and a draw, showcasing their hard work and determination.

The A team battled to a 4-2 victory in a competitive fixture against a well-organised Mill Hill side. Goals from Macdavid, Joshua, Mordecai, and Albert secured the win, continuing the team’s strong run after their recent 6-3 triumph over SMMA. Albert’s goal made it four in two games for him. With a few injuries along the way, the team will now focus on rest and recovery ahead of their Cup semi-final against UCL.

The B team played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw. Ronnie opened the scoring with a fine finish to put the team ahead, while goalkeeper Stanley produced a crucial penalty save late in the game. However, Mill Hill found an equaliser with ten minutes to go, denying us a clean sweep.

The C team dominated their fixture, securing a convincing 7-2 win. Teddy, Ashley, and Harry were instrumental, with Harry netting five goals despite carrying a knock. The majority of the squad have been putting in the work during training, and it was fantastic to see their efforts rewarded with a first win in three games.

The D team capped off the afternoon in style with a commanding 7-0 victory, maintaining their unbeaten record for the season. Benson, Omar, and Yasin starred, with Yasin mirroring Harry’s feat of scoring five goals. This fantastic group continues to embody the school’s values with their outstanding performance and conduct.

Next up for the Year 9 teams is a test against Haberdashers’ Hatcham College
