Year 9 Art Trip to the Tate Modern – ‘Capturing the Moment’

On Monday 4^th March, the Art department took a group of budding year 9 artists to the Tate Modern for the afternoon. The pupils visited the ‘Capturing the Moment’ exhibition and the permanent collections.

In the ‘Capturing the Moment’ exhibition, pupils were able to learn more about the introduction of photography, and how “painting and photography have shaped each other over time”.

Students were set various challenges in small groups. They were tasked with recreating the works of art and capturing impressive views from the Tate building on camera. It was a pleasure taking such a creative group of pupils on this trip.
