On Thursday 14th December, 40 Year 7 students were accompanied by Mr Royal, Ms Bagot, Ms Offord and Ms Careswell to a very entertaining and engaging pantomime production of Jack and the Beanstalk in Stratford or “Splatford” as named by the witty script writer Anna Jordan!
We were treated to a healthy dose of audience interaction, jokes, sweets, catchy songs and impressive dance moves by Jack, Winnie the moo, the impressively costumed dame, Flesh creep and the rest of the gang.
In this modern take on a classic panto tale, an evil giant hoards the town’s precious natural resource, mud, demanding excessive rents on dilapidated properties, a challenge faced by many renters today. The messages about egalitarian and ecological living were very topical and it made for a very memorable afternoon out!
