On Friday 5th December, Central Foundation’s Year 7 boys competed in a fencing competition against Year 8 girls from City of London School for Girls. Despite the boys having only three months of fencing experience, they produced a determined and competitive performance against an older and more experienced opposition.
The A team narrowly lost their match by 24–27, showing strong resilience and tactical awareness throughout. The B team faced a challenging contest and were defeated 15–27, gaining valuable competitive experience against a well-drilled team.
Overall, the fixture provided an excellent learning opportunity for the Year 7 boys, who demonstrated commitment, sportsmanship, and clear signs of progress. We look forward to seeing the squad participate in future fixtures and competitions as they continue to develop their skills and confidence.
