Every year in the Summer term our Year 12 pupils have the opportunity to engage in work experience – having first-hand experience of the world of work can be a valuable opportunity for our young people to gain a better understanding of the career pathways they are considering in the future, while also being able to practice the essential skills that future employers will be looking for.
The School works with a number of valued employer partners to offer placements for our young people, and this year the Central Futures team redesigned the allocation process to more closely mirror the recruitment processes that our young people will experience in the future. This process has culminated in a series of interviews with our employer partners, where shortlisted pupils have had the chance to attend an interview with their prospective work experience employer. These interviews took place across May and provided an opportunity for our young people to secure valuable work experience placements and to develop interview skills and self-confidence.
Many thanks to all of our employer partners for supporting our new work experience structure this academic year – and best of luck to our young people who have attended interviews for these placements!
