It was another successful day on Thursday 12th February for our twenty Year 12 Geography students as they collected their primary data for their non-examined assessment on Brund Fell in the Borrowdale Valley.

The students focusing on the carbon cycle went up to a peat bog found at a 1,200 ft with views over the whole valley. Peat bogs and their restoration might well be the UK’s best shot at meeting net zero.
In the evening, they came back to the lab at the field study centre and started to examine soil moisture and carbon contents.
The students returned home safe and sound on the evening of Friday 13th February and the field trip was an incredible experience for all!
