On Tuesday 16th December, Central Foundation’s Year 12 Computing students worked with a local fintech firm, Broadridge, to explore the range of career pathways in this sector and how they relate to computing and technology.
The programme was delivered in two segments: the first in-school, where representatives from Broadridge visited our Computing group and introduced their company, what they do, and the key skills the sector will be looking for as it evolves. In this workshop, students were set a challenge to develop a financial management app for teenagers, which they would have to present to a wider Broadridge team in their offices.
The second segment of the programme was delivered at the Broadridge headquarters, where students received a tour of the office, participated in a careers carousel with members of Broadridge from across the business, and finally presented their app idea to a panel of Broadridge employees for feedback.
This was a fantastic opportunity for our young people to learn more about career pathways related to technology and their subject area, while also practicing the key essential skills that are needed for their career journey. Thank you to Broadridge for hosting us!
