On Thursday 23rd November, our Year 12 3D Design students visited and experienced the awe-inspiring ArcelorMittal Orbit, the tallest sculpture in the UK. The sculpture was designed by Anish Kapoor and houses the worlds’ longest slide.
The students took the lift 80 metres up and took in the panoramic views of London, before taking the slide back down. The sculpture is a design and architectural masterpiece, piecing together sculpture, engineering and playfulness.
We are were interested in a place where architecture meets sculpture, where geometry gives rise to structure. – Sir Anish Kapoor –
