A group of Year 11 GCSE Spanish students took part in a Languages and Careers talk on Thursday 6th March. We heard from professionals in Media, Law and Engineering from Raw Media, Slaughter and May, and Baker Hicks.
Students listened to our guests’ experiences of learning languages at school and university and opportunities they have had to spend time in countries including Mexico, France, Ukraine, Republic of Congo and many more. Students put some interesting questions to the panel and discussed translation difficulties, how language learning helps develop soft skills and compatibility of languages with STEM subjects.
It was an enriching experience which we hope will help students to consider studying Spanish at A level.
