On Monday 6th and Friday 10th October, our Year 11 GCSE Geography students embarked on their fieldtrip to Epping Forest to explore the changing characteristics of Loughton Brook, a tributary of the River Thames.
Students spent time in the river channel examining the changing depth, width and velocity of the river to see if it matched their hypotheses about how rivers change from their source to mouth. Despite a lack of water in many parts of the river (due to the recent dry spell), students got stuck in with all aspects of the investigation, which they will write up in lessons at school.
