On Wednesday 11th January 2023, 16 Year 11 students went to the Almeida theatre, Islington to watch the matinee performance of ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’.
The purpose of this trip was to further develop their theatre review writing skills for their final GCSE exam. This was an excellent and engaging performance, featuring outstanding performances from Patsy Ferran as Blanche and Paul Mescal as Stanley. It was a minimalist performance set in the round without any set and relying on the acting and movement to bring this tragic American tale to life.
