Central Foundation’s Mandarin department took our talented Year 10 students to Queen Mary University of London on Friday 19th June, where they presented their creative projects to the university and other secondary schools in London. This was organised by the prestigious, government-funded Mandarin Excellence Programme (MEP), in which all Mandarin students at Central Foundation take part.
During the week of 9th June and 18th June, the Year 10 Mandarin students worked in groups and made advertisement videos of UK tourist destinations in Mandarin. They were able to make excellent use of their Mandarin skills and creativity in these projects, which they presented to other schools on the conference in Queen Mary University of London. Stanley, Joe, Oliver, and William received the Best Use of Language Award from staff and students.
The students also had a campus tour of the university, listening to lectures about choices of studying abroad in top Chinese universities, and reflected their career paths and future aspirations.
