Year 10 GCSE Drama trip to watch Dear England at the New Wimbledon Theatre

On Thursday 26th February, our Year 10 GCSE Drama students travelled down to New Wimbledon Theatre to watch a matinee performance of Dear England.

This play follows Gareth Southgate in his role as England football manager and the England football team as they competed in the Euros and World Cup. James Graham has rewritten parts of it to reflect the 2024 Euros.

Our Year 10 GCSE students almost all play in the A and B football teams for CFBS so they are very familiar with the determination needed to achieve in this game. They really enjoyed the play, including the nail-biting penalty shoot-outs and its slick production! Dear England left us with an important takeaway, ‘reminding us that the greatest victory is not necessarily the trophy, but the courage to try and the dignity to lose’ (West End Best Friend).
