On Wednesday 25th May, our Year 10 GCSE Drama students had the opportunity to visit the Almeida theatre to watch ‘House of Shades’ starring BAFTA and Olivier Award-nominated actor Anne-Marie Duff.
The play was a hard hitting drama set in the industrial landscape of working class Britain, telling the tale of a family, their struggles, hopes and dreams, through the ages. The performance dealt with difficult themes, some fantastic performances and an intriguing set, sound and lighting design that the boys were able to analyse and reflect upon brilliantly in preparation for their upcoming assessment.
Our students were the only school present, and they represented themselves and Central Foundation exceptionally well, receiving many compliments and much praise from members of the public.
