On Wednesday 16th October, our Year 10 GCSE drama students took part in the first workshop of four as part of the Old Vic’s Schools Club that we have been successful in securing a place on this academic year.
Two visiting workshop leaders spent two hours working with the students developing their knowledge and understanding of the characters and themes they will be introduced to when watching the play, ‘The Real Thing’ at the Old Vic. The students visited the Old Vic and watched the play on the following Wednesday.
Schools Club is an incredible opportunity in which students receive four free workshops and four theatre visits to the Old Vic throughout the year, all for free. This not only enhances students’ cultural capital but exposure to such a breadth and depth of theatre really helps to develop vital skills for their GCSE course.
