World Book Day 2026

Happy World Book Day!

In our assemblies this week, we reflected on the importance of independent reading for pleasure. Directors of Learning shared their recommendations for books which had been influential in their lives.

We also invited all students to read a book of their choice with a teacher by taking part in ‘Before the Bell: Read & Reset’.

The more that you read,
the more things you will know.
The more that you learn,
the more places you'll go.

World Book Day is a worldwide celebration of books and reading. We know that when children choose to read more it makes them better at reading, feel happier and more successful.

All Central Foundation students have received a digital £1 book token and have the opportunity to exchange this for a short free book or a £1 reduction on a book of their choice at a participating retailer.

Click here to download the token which is valid from Thursday 12 February until Sunday 15 March 2026

We encourage families to visit World Book Day for Families: Celebrate Reading Together for ideas ideas, resources and practical information to help you make the most of World Book Day with your family.

To all our students and wider community, happy reading always!
