Winter Concert 2023

Wednesday 20th December was a clear, crisp evening but we found warmth in our community coming together to celebrate the talented musicians at our annual Winter Concert!

This was the first concert to be hosted in our incredible Performing Arts theatre, many audience members commented on what a wonderful space this was for the occasion, with such brilliant acoustics!

Director of Music, Mr Haylor gave his thanks at the end of the concert to all those who had worked so hard behind the scenes to make this happen.

This year, we divided our concert into two, with our junior ensembles performing first at 5.30pm. Audience members enjoyed a short “interval” in the main hall with mulled wine and mince pies, before our senior assembles performed at 6.30pm.

The junior choir had us all head bopping along to their cover of White Winter Hymnal by the Fleet foxes, the drum group had us all foot tapping. Sammy wowed the audience with his solo performance of Supernova to conclude the Junior concert.

The senior concert featured some brilliant jazz pieces, the house band performance of “Tequila” had us all singing along and the talented guitar band performed a cover of The Kinks.

We would like to thank the Music department for nurturing musical talent and putting on this memorable show and all audience members for attending.
