On Thursday 1st February, the Drama department took 20 students from years 8 to 11 to the National Centre for Circus Arts to watch the second year degree students’ final dress rehearsal for their performance.
The show was breath-taking, showcasing a wide range of circus skills and remarkable physical performances. Our students and staff were blown away by the sheer strength, agility, technique and talent, not to mention the visual aspects with an accomplished lighting and set design.
After the performance we were lucky enough to take part in a Q&A session with the show’s director and the whole cast. The trip was concluded with a tour of the beautiful space and rehearsal rooms.
Six Central Foundation students are currently enrolled in a short course at the Centre on a scholarship for circus arts, taking part in classes weekly. It was an inspirational and exciting experience, showcasing wider aspects of performing arts.
