Summer Concert 2023

On the evening of Thursday 20th July, we held our annual Summer Concert which showcased the hard work and commitment the students put in their music lessons and rehearsals.

Quartet in D by Franz Asplmayr performed by the Clarinet Quartet

The Summer Concert opened with the Clarinet Quartet’s performance of Quartet in D by Franz Asplmayr, followed by Wind Trio by Franz Schubert performed by the Year 10 Wind Trio.

The finalists of the National Chamber Music Competition at the Pro Corda Festival, the Amoko Quartet, then performed String Quartet No.1 by Franz Schubert. This was followed by the Combined Orchestras performance of the Mandalorian Theme by Ludwig Göransson.

The CFBS Chamber choir continued to perform Shosholoza, a traditional song in South Africa and California Dreamin’ by The Mamas & The Papas.

Alfie and the Guitar Band then performed their rendition of Can’t Buy Me Love by The Beatles, while Lovesong by The Cure was covered by Fret Wrx and Isaac.

Night Train by Jimmy Forest and Squib Cakes by Tower of Power were covered by the House Band and the Jazz Band respectively.

Sammy then performed an original song, One Day, and the Combined Choir and Bands concluded the wonderful showcase with 1 Thing by Amerie. The night was met with a standing ovation from the audiences. We could not be more proud of our students!
