31 of our Year 7 and 17 of our Year 8 students took part in the Junior Maths Challenge on Thursday 28th April, answering challenging mathematical problems with only their mathematical knowledge, a piece of paper and a pencil.
We are pleased to announce that over half of the boys have received either a bronze, silver or gold certificate and 5 students have qualified for the follow-on round, the Junior Kangaroo. These 5 students achieved over 92 marks on the Junior Challenge and will participate in the Junior Kangaroo which will take place on Tuesday 14th June:
- Anir (Year 7) : 106
- Badis (Year 7) : 96
- Finlay (Year 8) : 95
- Donnacha (Year 7) : 102
- Mylo (Year 8) : 102
A special mention goes to the following:
- Best in Year 7: Anir
- Best in Year 8: Mylo
- Best in school: Anir (With a narrow margin of 4 points!)
We are immensely proud of the boys that took part and it was so wonderful to see so many students taking a keen interest in maths. We wish them all the best in keeping up with their success going forward all the way through the intermediate and senior maths challenges.
