Over the February half term, 40 of Central Foundation students from Year 8,9 and 10 went on a ski trip to Loafer, Austria. Almost all of the students attending were beginners at skiing but by the time the week finished:
- 88% of the group had skied on a blue slope.
- 65% had skied on a red slope.
- 30% were confidently parallel skiing on a red slope.
The students were separated into groups, each with their own instructor. The group sizes fluctuated depending on the progress the students made. Students skied for five hours each day.
The weather and snow conditions were excellent throughout the week.
The students spent most of their time on the slopes but in their free time, they watched an evening ski show, participated in a quiz night or played pool, table tennis or board games. Students also did some hiking in the vicinity of the resort.
The group came back a little tired but in high spirits. Overall, the trip was a great success and we look forward to the next season.
