On Friday 12th May, the Sixth Form took part in a competitive Cricket match on the School’s Astroturf. Conditions looked tremendous for the two teams, with the groundman’s best efforts to clear the pitch before the game. The umpire, Ms Patel took up her position.
Team Harvey, captained by Arupa won the toss and opted to field first. The opening batsman of team Leo, captained by Sami batted steadily. The fast bowlers of the opposing team tried to dislodge them. They bowled many maiden overs. Team Harvey won the first and second innings and won the match overall.
In the end, the batsman for Team Leo could not withstand the onslaught and wickets fell fast. Mr. Barker took up a bowling position to try to save team Leo but unfortunately lost many runs in his two overs as the sixth form spin bowler.
Player of the match for both teams are: Arupa for her consistent and accurate fast bowling and Mahimna for accumulating the most runs for his team.
