On Monday 11th November, Central Foundation school community marked the Remembrance Day with a special Remembrance assembly and an Act of Remembrance at 11am. We reflected on the historical significance of this date and paid our respect to those who died or were injured in the World Wars and other conflicts around the world.
Students read poems such as For the Fallen by Laurence Binyon and Dreamers by Siegfried Sassoon. The assembly opened with Max Richter’s Prelude performed on the piano while the string quarter closed it with Herschel’s Adagio.
The representatives of staff and students laid poppy wreaths at our school War Memorial. We remembered the sacrifice of 112 Central Foundation students who died during WWI and the 19 students who died during WW2.
It was a special day for our school community.
