During the month of September and October, Central Foundation opened its doors to the prospective students, and their parents and carers, looking to apply for a secondary school place next year.
We welcomed over 1500 visitors at our Open Evening and Open Mornings. Our guests had the opportunity to observe lessons in progress as well as a range of activities including drama and music performances dotted across the school, sport disciplines in our four sport venues, science experiments, subject quizzes and debating.
The primary school students and their families were shown around by our Year 11 Prefects and Student Ambassadors from Year 7 to Year 13 who engaged their presentation and leadership skills to complete the task. Nearly 250 students participated in the hosting of the open events both as participants of various activities during the Open Evening and as Student Ambassadors who welcomed the visitors and who led the tours. A late finish on an Open Evening night did not deter any of our students who helped with the event. On the contrary, the school was full and buzzing until late evening, when the last group of the visitors left.
We were delighted to see so many students from our local primary schools and other parts of London. We hope to see many of them again for our Year 7 induction events in the summer term 2025.
