Over the past month, we have completed an Interhouse Rowing Tournament for all students in Year’s 7, 8 & 9. Students in Year 7 rowed as far as they could in 2 minutes, in Year 8 for 3 minutes and in Year 9 for 4 minutes. Every metre counted towards the overall Interhouse standings!
The top 10 students in each Year group then went on to represent Central Foundation at the National Junior Indoor Rowing Championships on Friday 1st of March and what a day! Another fantastic event with our students competing against schools (and rowing clubs!) up and down the country.
The number of students involved in each event are as follows:
- Year 7 Boys – 235 students
- Year 8 Boys – 290 students
- Year 9 Boys – 270 students
- Junior Relay – 108 teams & clubs
Some specific stand out results over the course of the day included:
- Macail – 4th Nationally (4m off Bronze)
- Zachary – 22nd Nationally
- Rory – 12th Nationally
