On March 8th, 25 students from Years 7 and 8 took part in an exciting circus skills workshop with the National Centre for Circus Arts (NCCA). The NCCA is a leading centre for contemporary circus training. Based in the Hoxton area of Shoreditch, London, the NCCA offers one of the UK’s only university degree programmes in circus.
The workshop started with a group warm-up session:
The boys learnt how to juggle and perform various routines and formations in gymnastics and acrobatics. These feats tested and helped them develop their hand-eye coordination, balance, strength and fitness!
With a focus on play and creativity, the workshop also developed team and confidence building in our boys!
The workshop ended with a successful double pyramid formation from our boys!
We hope to continue forging strong links with the NCCA to provide more opportunities for after-school events and workshops in the future.
