Message from the Headteacher & October 2025 Newsletter

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we begin the second half of the autumn term, I would like to welcome everyone back and share a few important updates and celebrations from across the school.

Student Assessments

All students sit three assessments each year. The first of these assessments will either have already been sat or will be sat in the next few weeks. We look to prepare the students for these assessments through their classwork and the homework we set. The homework we set is focused on revision and preparation for these tests, and we appreciate your support in encouraging students to engage fully with this process.

Music Provision

We are also delighted to share that our Music Department has been nominated for Music Department of the Year in the 2025 Music and Drama Awards — a fantastic recognition of the creativity, dedication, and talent within our school community.

In addition, Mr Sibley, our Head of Strings, has been nominated as the Instrumental Teacher of the year in the same awards.

Co-curricular engagement

Beyond the classroom, we are proud that over 70% of our students have taken part in at least one co-curricular activity this term. From sports and performing arts to clubs and societies, these experiences are central to our vision of education at Central Foundation — where academic excellence is complemented by character development, personal growth, and the joy that comes from shared experiences.

As we move into this half-term, our focus remains on academic success, but we also want to ensure that every student is involved in at least one co-curricular activity. These opportunities are not just enriching — they are essential to the well-rounded education we strive to provide.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We look forward to a purposeful and inspiring half-term ahead.

Best wishes,

Mr Brownhill
Headteacher
