Message from the Headteacher & July 2025 Newsletter

Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome to our final news update of the 2024-25 academic year.

I would like to thank parents and carers for all of their support of the students’ learning throughout the year.  We have seen a further improvement in attendance and engagement throughout the year and this in turn feeds into the overall achievement of the students.  We have the highest expectations of what the students can become and achieve; and it is to their great credit the frequency with which they live up to those expectations.

Our aim is to provide all of our students with access to a broad and high-quality curriculum, including the core subjects but extending to the arts, sports and with a particular focus on the students’ individual personal development. Our commitment to such an education can be seen in the events of the final few weeks of term. Alongside the events of activities week and the trip to China, we saw many excellent and joyful end of term events, such as the summer concert, with a short preview of Oliver!, and the art and design exhibition. Our sports teams continued to excel in athletics, cricket, football, swimming and tennis. Athletics in particular have attracted an increasing number of students who have discovered the joys of running, rowing and shot put.

In March 2025, Ofsted rated the school as Outstanding in all of its inspected categories. We were delighted with the outcome and incredibly proud of our students. However, we do not stand still. Next academic term, we continue the development of our Central Baccalaureate provision and we are launching our Saturday Creative Arts School that will provide training and performance opportunities for young people interested in the arts.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, the parents and carers, for your support of the students and the school. I wish you all a safe and happy summer holiday and I look forward to seeing you all again in September.

Best wishes,

Mr Brownhill
Headteacher
