One of our campus redevelopment project aims was to create facilities that will serve not only the CFBS students and staff but also the wider community.
Our sports hall is used in the evenings by the Greenhouse Sports Charity and Middlesex Cricket Club. Our new Theatre in the Creative Arts Centre has allowed us to host numerous events and competitions.
In January 2025, London Symphony Orchestra Discovery moved into the Creative Arts Centre and will stay at Central Foundation until their permanent home at St Luke’s Church is fully refurbished. The LSO Discovery runs rehearsals and practice sessions at CFBS on Sundays and a couple of weekday evenings. LSO Discovery is described on its website as “a world-leading learning and community programme that brings the Orchestra and its music to everybody.
LSO Discovery enriches lives through the transformative power of music, with a year-round programme of inspiring, inclusive opportunities for performers, creators and listeners of all ages. Every year we reach 60,000 people through nearly 1,000 workshops and events, using the power of music to enhance wellbeing, and sharing the knowledge and experience of the LSO family to encourage creativity, potential and talent to flourish”.
