On a crisp, sunny morning on Friday 19th December, the Central Foundation Boys’ School cross country team enjoyed a truly special training session. We were delighted to be joined by elite distance runner Luca Minale, a local talent who took time out of his winter break to share his expertise and journey with our students.
A Local Success Story
Luca’s visit served as a powerful reminder to our boys that world-class opportunities are within reach for dedicated young athletes.
Luca is currently based in the United States, where he is studying and competing at the University of San Francisco.
Training with a Pro
The atmosphere on the morning was electric as the boys trained alongside Luca. Despite the winter chill, the team was fired up by his presence. Luca shared practical tips on pacing and race strategy, but his most impactful message was about consistency and ambition.
By sharing his “local-to-global” story, Luca showed our runners that with enough grit and determination, the path from a December morning in a London park to a scholarship in California is one they can follow too.
