Our Year 9 and 10 Computer Science students recently participated in the Lloyds Bank RebootX Hackathon. This event provided an opportunity for them to learn about the intersection of computing and finance.
The students were engaged and enthusiastic as they interacted with industry professionals. They attended talks by experts in the field, which gave them an overview of the different aspects of finance and computing.One of the key activities was a workshop on app design, focusing on accessibility in banking. The students also enjoyed a presentation by Microsoft about artificial intelligence and its role in banking, highlighting how Lloyds Banking Group uses AI in their operations.A memorable part of the event was when the students observed a demonstration by a professional team. This gave them a peek into the collaborative and competitive nature of the industry.Overall, the hackathon was a valuable learning experience for our students. It enhanced their understanding of potential careers in technology and finance and left them inspired about the possibilities in these fields.
