Our Key Stage 3 Tennis Team enjoyed a tremendous opportunity to spend the day at the Wimbledon Championships on Tuesday 7th July, witnessing some of the world’s best players competing at the very highest level.
The students spent time on Court Two, enjoying a fantastic afternoon of mixed, women’s and men’s doubles action. They also visited the practice courts, gaining a valuable insight into the preparation, professionalism and attention to detail required to compete in elite sport. Highlights included watching Novak Djokovic warm up on Court 16, as well as seeing tennis legends Caroline Wozniacki, Lleyton Hewitt and Jamie Murray take part in exhibition matches.
It was a fabulous day out and an unforgettable learning experience for everyone involved. We hope the visit has inspired our students, and who knows—perhaps it won’t be too long before a Central Foundation Boys’ School student is competing at Wimbledon themselves.
