July After School Club and Summer School programmes with STORE STORE

Join us for an After School Club guided by Tessa Silva. Using milk as a natural casting material, you will have the opportunity to design and make a series of vases. Students will learn to process waste milk (sourced from a small organic dairy farm in Sussex) into a solid material and cast into individually designed and handmade fabric moulds. The club will involve working with a variety of deadstock fabrics, experimenting with natural pigments, and learning how to make and handle a unique natural material. This will be an intro to art and design as a tool for storytelling and activism.

Join us for a free STORE X Cella Collective Summer School in August. We will experiment with digital and analogue extrusion techniques, develop architectural components made with natural and locally sourced materials and ingredients.

From food to fired clay, bread and bricks, students will collaboratively design and build a series of architectural fragments inspired by the local area. The outcome of the workshops will contribute to a growing material library for future STORE builds and an extruded feast.

Walking the City is a free summer school program for state school students in years 11 and 12 that will explore the world of footwear design and the city. You will be introduced to how trainers are made, sustainable footwear design, production, and their history. You will have the opportunity to design and make your very own trainer designed for the urban explorer, guided by some of the best architects and designers working in London. This course will introduce you to a wide range of architectural ideas and processes that you can expect to find on an undergraduate course at The Bartlett School of Architecture.
