Founder’s Day 2024

On Friday 6th December, parents, prize winners, school governors and trustees were invited to Founder’s Day, our annual prize giving ceremony to celebrate the school’s founder, Reverend William Rogers, and the achievements of its students.

This was a special event where over 400 prizes were awarded to the CFBS students in every year group, for most progress, highest attainment in specific subjects or for demonstrating our core values: be your best, be a learner, be respectful and kind, be brave.

The Jazz Band performed “Pick up the Pieces” at the Founder’s Day ceremony.

A number of special awards were presented to both current and past students.

The Bendy Scholarship was awarded to Sami and Charlie-George, the top performing STEM A Level students who went on to study Computer Science and General Engineering at university this September. The Dr Beck Scholarship for exceptional progress was awarded to James (Y10), Husaam (Y12) and Simona (13).

Two awards were presented for the first time this year.

The Clive Arding Award, donated by Mr Arding, a long-serving trustee on the Central Foundation Schools of London board and a key figure behind the successful completion of our ambitious campus project, went to Ayman, a Year 13 student, for his outstanding contribution to the Sixth Form and the wider community.

The Clark/Heath Award was presented to Aleema, a Year 13 student, for making outstanding progress and for her contribution to the school community. Mr John Clark and Ms Patricia Heath were long-serving members of staff of the Central Foundation Schools of London.

Mr Geoffrey Jayson, a former CFBS pupil, donated two bursaries in memory of his late family members all of whom benefited from being pupils at the school. The Jayson Bursary was awarded to two Year 13 students who have studied with us for 7 years now: Tajudeen and Zhandos.
