The Football programme continues to grow at an exceptional rate from a participation perspective. 310 students have represented the school so far this year across 25 football teams, reflecting the depth, inclusivity and ambition of the football provision.
Year 7
The Year 7s were involved in an end-to-end thriller against Mossbourne, narrowly losing 1–0 and unfortunate not to take the game into extra time. A spirited performance full of effort and bravery. The boys now face Haverstock in the Area Cup quarter-finals.
Year 8
The Year 8s continued their excellent cup run with a 5–1 victory over Leytonstone in the Round of 16, securing a place in the quarter-finals of the London Cup. Goals were shared across the team, with a standout moment coming from George, who lobbed the goalkeeper from over 40 yards. A dominant and confident performance.
Year 9
Despite reaching the London Cup Final last season, the Year 9s were narrowly knocked out this year, losing 1–0 to the Independent Schools champions, Forest. A disciplined and competitive performance against top-level opposition. The boys now turn their attention to the Borough Cup quarter-final against Beacon High.
Year 10
Unbeaten going into Christmas, the Year 10s have had an outstanding season to date. A significant shift in culture has transformed this group into a confident and dominant team. Unfortunately, their National Cup run came to an end in Round 6 (Last 32) with a 3–1 defeat to a very strong Kingsdale side. The boys remain firmly in contention on two other fronts, reaching the quarter-finals of the Middlesex Cup (vs Bishop Ramsey) and the quarter-finals of the Islington & Camden Cup (vs SMMA).
