On May 4th, our Year 7, 8 and 9 groups travelled to Finsbury Park Athletics Track for the Borough Championships. The force was strong in the pupils on the day. Many of the pupils came away with individual medals and there were some outstanding team results.
Individually, several of the boys put in an award winning effort and left us in a great position to finish strongly as a team. Some of the athletes that stood out on the day were Macdavid, Alfie, Stanley, Henry, Lennie, Giovani, Atticus, Malakai, Bill and Elijah. All of these boys secured Silver in their respective events.
There were also strong finishes from many of the other pupils and that left us in a fantastic position for the team competition.
The overall team performance on the day was outstanding! The Year 7 team achieved a magnificent 1st place. The Year 8 and Year 9 teams finished 2nd and 4th respectively. This left us in a combined final position of 2nd place school on the day. This fantastic result was testament to the pupils’ tremendous efforts and no doubt the boys can go one step further in the search for the team title in years to come.
