On Friday 10th February, our Sixth Form female students took part in their first competitive cricket match.
Tay captained one team with Arupa captaining the other. The general managers of each team teams were led tremendously by Leo and Harvey in year 12.
Team Arupa took the first innings courageously scoring a total of 44 runs against team Tay who scored a total of 36 runs. After a rousing team talk by Halvey, team Tay made a remarkable comeback in the second innings with a score of 25 runs to team Arupa’s 16 runs. The total runs combined from both innings meant team Tay won by just 1 run.
A fantastic, competitive and great spirited match with some remarkable skills on display. We are very proud of each and every one of them for showing determination, tenacity and sportswomenship.
The ‘women of the match’ awards voted by both teams were Jessica and Arupa. Well done ladies!
