On Wednesday March 29th, our Year 9 students participated in their final music assembly of the year. This was primarily a celebration of their time as part of the Music in Secondary School’s Trust Andrew Lloyd Webber Programme, which provides free musical instruments for the entire year group, in addition to small group lessons.
Since the Year 9’s joined Central Foundation in September 2021, all the students have learnt to read music and play either the violin, viola or flute. The assembly was a chance to look back on what a fantastic achievement and journey this has been, and to reflect on the wider skills they have gained from the experience.
Finally, awards were given out to celebrate those students who have demonstrated exceptional progress and dedication to music.
