On 14th December 2023, 3 Central Foundation students in Year 12 attended the annual Clash of the Titans economics forecasting event in Mayfair. They heard from 3 leading economists on the key economic variables that shape our nation’s financial future.
The subject experts presented their predications on GDP growth, inflation rates, unemployment figures, earnings growth trajectories and interest rates. Additionally, they all touched upon potential ‘black swan’ events that could significantly alter these forecasts.
Oliver expressed how impressed he was with these insights, realising both the importance and difficulties around accurate forecasting on these critical economic markers.
